Thursday, August 9, Tent #1

Come join us for a day of needles and pins!

Knitting:

In the morning, Mistress Rhiannon y Bwa will show techniques for making the hem of a Monmouth cap and two methods for thrumming a Sailor's Thrum. She'll also discuss controlled fulling of knit caps and knitting to historical gauge. These will be informal presentation with lots of show and tell, probably around an hour or less. She will also be available for informal interactions.

During the day, Baroness Camilla de la Reynarde will be talking about the history of handknitting upon request.

Lacemaking:

During the afternoon, Lady Allegra Ginevra Soave da Napoli will have multiple pillows with projects in various stages of completion, along with a book of lace samples. She'll have tools, prickings, and several books with her.

We'll have all sorts of other demonstrators
stopping by during the day!
